City Lodge is a wholly owned South African company with operations throughout the country. Established in 1985, our hospitality group operates four different brands: Courtyard, City Lodge, Town Lodge and Road Lodge, offering our guests a range of choice when it comes to budget, facilities, and locations.

Catering to both business and leisure travellers, we differentiate our hotels by providing quality accommodation, friendly service, and a ‘home away from home’ atmosphere. This entails changing the way our employees think, in order to come up with new ways of doing things.

As a player within the hospitality industry, the bulk of the careers available within our Group fall within the hospitality sphere. From a generic perspective, there are opportunities within the fields of finance, sales and marketing, IT, HR, and hospitality management.

 

“In terms of recruitment, we tend to develop our people so that the majority of positions can be filled internally. External recruitment is targeted, as the majority of the time we are aware of the positions we will not be able to fill internally. Ultimately, the number of people we recruit within a year will depend on the needs of the business at that time.”

Six months of experiential training, which is a requirement for all Hotel Schools in South Africa, creates a pool from which the bulk of our graduate intake takes place.

“We also have our own City Lodge Academy, whereby the theoretical aspects of the course are completed at the University of Johannesburg and the experiential training forms part of a three-year programme within City Lodge.”

    I am a graduate of Sociology with over 6 years experience in 3 and 5 stars hotels in Nigeria,my home country.As an immigrant,i am finding it difficult to enter the hotel industry since i relocated to South Africa about 6 years ago.I love the City Lodge group.Somebody who works in one of your hotels advised me to enroll at the Frontline hospitality school in Randburg.Please advise me on how to join your wonderful hotel group
